About Me
Ilyssa “Lyss” Hollenbeck is a filmmaker and visual storyteller based in Syracuse, NY. She graduated from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a B.S. in Television, Radio & Film and a minor in Cannabis Studies.

In January 2024, Lyss joined Project Freefall, where she has worked as an editor, director, and videographer. Through this collective, she has contributed to music videos and creative content for artists including Usher, 2 Chainz, Joe Jonas, NLE Choppa, Jaydon, and Honest Av. Additionally, In the fall of 2024 she served as creative director, videographer, and editor for musician Maleigh Zan during her first tour. Most recently, she has worked as a videographer for up and coming artist, Jaydon.

In the spring of 2025, Lyss directed two capstone projects to complete her studies at Syracuse University. The first was a music video for Brooklyn-based artist Nory's new song "SNIP SNIP". In February of 2026 it was announced that it won 1st place at the BEA Festival of Media Arts. At the same time, she completed the documentary, "Wildflower" a profile of a Syracuse small-business owner, exploring her journey of resilience after losing her husband to ALS.

In 2023 Lyss worked with the WWII Foundation, traveling to France and Switzerland to work as a production assistant on 2 of their documentaries. She has also volunteered with the Syracuse International Film Festival and filmed for Honor Flight Syracuse on trips to Washington, D.C.​
